ORLANDO PÉREZ

ABOUT MY CARRER

About myself. I can very briefly tell you that I have been in the wonderful world of photography for 17 years. I started taking photos with analog SLR cameras from the 80's and then moved on to digital photography and video. I took the first classes from one of the photographers of the National Ballet of Cuba at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Havana and later I continued the theoretical and practical progress with prominent journalists, photojournalists and biologists who taught the Nature Photography courses organized by the Photonature Section of the Cuban Zoological Society. As a result of the above I have managed to hold several collective and personal exhibitions. I was a volunteer photography teacher for about 10 years as part of one of the most important programs of the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana; "Comprehensive and Participatory Social Development Project for Adolescents in Old Havana." I have also participated in other events related to the visual arts such as the scientific workshop, "Scientific Illustration in Botany and its Associated Fauna" sponsored by the Antonio Núñez Jiménez Foundation for Nature and Man and held at its headquarters.
